Muriele “Mickey” Brophy, 93 of Rutherford passed away December 28th, 2015. She was one of eight children born to Martin and Mary Elizabeth McElwain Brophy on 3/24/22 in Hoboken, NJ. She spent the first half of her life in Union City, NJ and moved to Rutherford in the late 1970s. She and her sisters (now deceased) devoted their lives to caring for their younger sister Claire. Muriele loved Rutherford and the people in her town. She was a devoted parishioner of the Church of Saint Mary in Rutherford and supported a number of charities and organizations. She was an executive assistant for the Lipton Tea Company in NJ for over 40 years before retiring. Muriele will be missed by her nephews and nieces, Thomas Brophy, Doreen Brophy Esposito, Lauren Brophy, Robert Brophy, Lynne Russomanno and William Stanton and Terrance and Thomas Molon.
She is predeceased by her 7 siblings; Lucille Stanton, Martin Brophy, Gertrude Brophy, Rita Molon, Charles Thomas Brophy, Joan Trainor and Claire Brophy. The family wishes to give special thanks to her faithful friends Leigh Petroski and Herb, Kathy and Dan of Rutherford as well as the wonderful staff at Allendale Nursing Home.

Relatives and friends are asked to assemble by the office of Holy Cross Cemetery, 340 Ridge Road, North Arlington, NJ, Office at 12:30pm for a 1:00pm service to take place in the Mausoleum on January 9, 2016.
